For
patients

We're here to guide you every step of the way.

At VCU HIV Services, we connect you with medical providers and support systems to help you manage your diagnosis.

Starting out

Seek care as soon as you test HIV positive to protect your health and prevent spreading the disease to others. Call (804) 828-6163 to speak with a care team member and set up your first appointment.

Navigating care

As a new patient, you’ll be assigned a Linking Individuals in Need of Care (LINC) navigator and a case manager, who can walk you through our programs and services and answer any questions between appointments. Be aware of these key steps:

  • Affording care - Don’t let financial worries prevent you from getting the care you need.
  • Getting treatment - Our team of professionals provide comprehensive health care.
  • Finding support - We’ll connect you to support resources in Richmond and beyond.

Staying the course

Life can get overwhelming. If transportation, relocation, financial issues or other obstacles stand in the way of your treatment, contact your LINC navigator or case manager so they can help get you back on track.

Going further

As a patient, you have the opportunity to advocate for others living with the disease. Join our consumer advisory board or peer review team and let your voice be heard.
