Poster Guidelines

The conference organizers invite all interested non-faculty participants and conference attendees to consider presenting a poster. We will be bringing together scientists from a wide range of disciplines, including molecular biology, biology, medicine, computer science, mathematics and statistics. We are soliciting high-quality research posters in any aspect of mathematical modeling and/or computer simulation of cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary dynamics.

Posters are intended to convey a scientific result and are not advertisements for commercial software packages. A poster that is judged by the conference organizers to be an advertisement will be subject to removal without notice. Posters submitted may cover any area of the mathematical modeling and/or computer simulation of cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary dynamics. We also encourage submission of purely experimental work and experimental posters as well as theoretical/computational work.  Submitted posters will be reviewed by the poster selection committee and notification of acceptance will be provided to the corresponding author no later than Monday, April 11, 2011. Posters must be submitted through the conference poster submission mechanism under the Conference Details tab of the conference website no later than 5pm Eastern Standard Time, April 1, 2011. No poster will be allowed to be presented if the primary presenter is not registered to attend the conference.

Submission Guidelines

Posters submitted by the April 1, 2011 deadline will be notified of acceptance by Monday, April 11, 2010. You must submit a 250 word poster abstract that will be included in the electronic conference program and posted on the conference web site. There is a maximum of one poster per presenting author. The presenting author of a poster must be registered delegate and be available at the poster session to which their poster is assigned. Posters will be on display June 2. Authors should be prepared to be available to present at their poster during the poster session. Submissions received after April 1, 2011 will be considered for the late poster acceptance. Poster Board measurements are as follows:

  • 2.50 m x 1.00 m is the outside measurement of the board.
  • The inside measurement (without aluminum frames) is 2.30 m x 0.97 m.
  • The ideal poster size is max. 1.30 m (130 cm) high x 0.90 m (90 cm) wide.
  • You will be notified as to the fastener types at a later date.

The conference organizers will not offer tables for laptop computer demos during the poster session. If you would like to demonstrate your software, you are encouraged to bring your own equipment.  All abstracts will be considered a "personal communication" to the conference attendees. As there will be no formal conference proceedings, abstracts will appear on the conference website.
