Meeting minutes
Presidential Search Committee
October 17, 2008
A meeting of the VCU Presidential Search Committee was held on Friday, October 17, 2008, at 8:30 a.m. in the University Meeting Center located at 101 North Harrison Street in Richmond.
Present were Ed Bersoff (chair), George Burke, Delores Collier, Michael Edmond, Cathy Howard, Olakunle Idowu, Malorie Janis, Maurice Jones, Lillian Lambert, Morgan McDowell, Dan Ream, Panny Rhodes, Tom Rosenthal, Stuart Siegel, and Patty Wilkerson. Linda Corey, Roselyn Hobson and Tom Snead were absent. Also present were Karen Balmer, Jan Greenwood, and Steve Portch.
Dr. Bersoff called the meeting to order and on motion made and seconded, the Minutes of a Meeting held October 6, 2008, were approved.
Jan Greenwood, Greenwood/Asher and Associates, Inc., was introduced. Dr. Greenwood discussed Search Ethics, Confidentiality, the Search Process and the Timetable for the Nomination Process.
Dr. Stephen Portch, Presidential Search Advisor, reported on the draft Environment Scan document. The final report will be posted on the Presidential Search web site.
Dr. Bersoff discussed the two Town Hall meetings scheduled for October 17, 2008, to be hosted by members of the Search Committee. The following members will attend and host a Town Hall Meeting on the Monroe Park Campus, scheduled for 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. in the University Student Commons Theater: Ed Bersoff, George Burke, Oklakunle Idowu, Maurice Jones, Lillian Lambert, Morgan McDowell, Dan Ream, Panny Rhodes, Tom Rosenthal, Stuart Siegel and Patty Wilkerson. The following Committee members will attend and host a Town Hall Meeting on the MCV Campus, scheduled for 3:30-5 p.m. in the George Ben Johnston Auditorium: Ed Bersoff, George Burke, Delores Collier, Michael Edmond, Cathy Howard, Malorie Janis, Dan Ream, Panny Rhodes, Tom Rosenthal, and Patty Wilkerson.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
