Markov models and their use
in identifying gene boundaries

Making a model of DNA sequences

Audience: Primarily 1st year students

Goals of session

  • Take a working program that produces Markov models of texts and modify it to work on DNA sequences.
  • Lots of hands on manipulation of Perl code
