VCU BBSI Symposium on
Forward-Looking Bioinformatics and Bioengineering
Tuesday, June 15, 7:00 pm
Life Sciences Building, Atrium
Goals of meeting
The symposium provides participants in the Bioinformatics and
Bioengineering Summer Institute an opportunity to run their best ideas
by their colleagues near the beginnings their summer research efforts.
Though presentations are in the form of posters, the symposium format
differs from that of most meetings in that a set period of time (approximately
7 minutes) is allocated for each of several sessions, enabling participants
to tell relatively complete versions of their research stories.
Presenters will be supplied with tape, with about 3 1/2 feet (horizontal) by 4 feet
(vertical) of wall space, and an interested audience. Using visual aids
posted on the wall, they will present their stories several times over
the course of the symposium.
