Summit on Systems Biology 2007
Tuesday, June 5 to Thursday, June 7
Jefferson Hotel, Richmond
Goals of meeting
The Summit on Systems Biology has become an annual event, bringing together many of those who have played the most active roles in applying systems biology to biomedical research. This year, for the first time, BBSI participants will participate in the event, both in the audience and as presenters.
Events
Preparation for the summit: Listening to three days of high-powered talks is not easy even for those who have spent their lives in research, still less so for those new to that life. It is easy to lose one's way amidst the sea of new terms and concepts and despair. To help make a connection, participants in the BBSi and HHMI programs have been grouped with specific speakers so that they can familiarize themselves with the substance of at least one talk. At a pre-Summit meeting, 3:30, Monday, June 4, groups will present the fruits of their labors so that all may gain from the effort.
Participant-speaker matchings
Program: Please see the program at the Summit web site
Dinner: Wednesday, June 6, 6:00 pm, at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Wrap-up for the summit: BBSI and HHMI participants will meet at the end of the Summit, 3:30 PM, Thursday, June 7, to piece together what they have learned.
