How will you eat?

(If you're in a hurry you might skip down to the last choice)

Campus dining halls
The dining hall will be open from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM Mon-Thu and 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Friday (not available weekends or holidays). Meal plans are available.

Student Commons
It is possible to purchase a meal plan, that gives you a 10.5% discount on purchases from a variety of vendors at the student commons (pizza, subs, bagels, and the like) plus one vendor on the medical campus (bagels). These vendors will be open only during the day (not during normal dinner hours).

Local eateries
There are a variety of restaurants in the area, including some relatively cheap (see Mark Delboy's assessment of local eateries). Of course, most ARE open for dinner. However, previous summer visitors to VCU who made routine use of this option complained of the monotony of restaurant living, not to mention the significant economic cost and cost to their arterial health.

Cooperative dining [BEST BUY!]
You can eat more cheaply, conveniently, and with greater satisfaction by joining forces with other Institute participants to solve the dinner problem. We encourage the formation of cooking collectives, using the cooking facilities available in your luxurious Gladding Apartments. We will facilitate their operation by providing many cooking utensils. A supermarket is about a mile from Gladding.
