The Transit of Venus
Time: Tuesday, June 8, 0:13:17 am - 6:26:11 am
Place: Earth
Organizer: Different people have different opinions
Audience: Anyone who doesn't want to wait until next time
The BBSI is proud to present to you the Transit of Venus, the first crossing of Venus across the face of the sun since 1882. No other bioinformatics or bioengineering institute has ever before made available such an event to its students.
You may observe the transit:
- Any time from 0:13 am - 6:26 am local time via a live web-cam made available through
Worth Hill Observatory
- Any time from 4:48 am (sunrise) - 6:26 am local time by projecting the image through binoculars onto a piece of paper. (Don't tell me you didn't bring binoculars!).
(Of course no one here would be so foolish as to try to look at the sun directly!)
