• Presentation: Clinical issues and research tools.
• Do simulation #1 first by yourself. We will do simulation #2-#4 in the class.
• Discussion: Fast Fourier transform and continuous Fourier transform based dominant frequency analysis and ventricular fibrillation mechanism.

• Simulation #1: Fourier series applet
  See Fourier series expansion interactively and listen to the sound you composed. Finish this one first and hopefully before the class.
  
• Simulation #2: Waveform composition using Matlab

• Simulation #3: Dominant frequency detection using FFT
  1000 Hz sampling rate, 1 sec data will give 1 Hz resolution. Perform several experiments to show the effects of limited resolution. Download this Matlab program = Dominant frequency detection using traditional FFT
• Simulation #4: Dominant frequency detection using FT
  FT is done at 10 times the resolution with FFT. Zero-padding is used to accomplish the goal. Download this Matlab program => Dominant frequency detection using FT
