Financial support
First, some nomenclature. Scientists don't get "paid", they get "supported".
What this means is that scientists do what they feel like doing, and someone gives them money to stay alive so that they can keep on doing it.
The Insitute will support you so that you can do science. Here's how:
- travel expenses paid to and from the Institute
- room on campus paid
- spending money of $3,500 over the course of 10 weeks for each
of the two summers
Also, you are encouraged to apply for funding to support your work at your home institution.
Unfortunately, according to NIH/NSF regulations, support of any kind from the institute is available only for U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
