Ultrasound / Antenatal Testing

The antenatal testing service at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals of Virginia Commonwealth University provides high resolution ultrasound imaging to look carefully at your unborn baby to insure that he or she is developing normally and growing normally. Ultrasound produces black and white pictures of your baby using harmless soundwaves. In addition to this careful examination of your baby, the unit uses sonar technology to monitor the baby's heartrate to show that he or she is happy is happy and healthy during the later stages of a high-risk or complicated pregnancy. The unit is staffed by highly trained physicians, sonographers, and technicians with decades of experience in this field.
