Children's Health / Pediatrics Special ServicesInformationThe Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia is dedicated to children's health and well-being. Our Children's Medical Center provides the finest pediatric services in Central Virginia and is rated among the best in the nation. Pediatric specialty services are available in all areas of medical and surgical care. Our physicians and surgeons have been recruited from the best children's hospitals in the nation. Many faculty have achieved statewide, national, and international recognition for their scientific contributions, advocacy for children, and leadership in professional organizations. Our team includes not only board certified pediatric physicians and specialists, but also nurses, clinical specialists, social workers, therapists, child life specialists and technicians who are trained in the art of caring for children. As a "hospital-within-a-hospital", our pediatric facilities reflect the understanding that children's needs are special. We are uniquely equipped and carefully staffed to treat the most critical ill and seriously injured children, from newborns to adolescents. Faculty
