Information

A Liver Center at MCV was established in 1996 to facilitate basic research regarding liver biology, pathophysiology of liver disease, immunology of hepatic transplantation, and liver-directed gene therapy.

Services Offered
  • Liver transplantation evaluation
  • Pretransplant management and post-transplant care.
  • Treatment of chronic liver disease, including hepatitis (B,C) and primary billiary cirrhosis management of fulminant hepatic failure, including use of isolated hepatocyte transplantation for temporary liver support.
  • Management of complications of cirrhosis including TIPS for treatment of ascites and variceal hemorrhage, new chemotherapeutic agents, and intraoperative cryotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma.
