Ok, well, my family and I have been around here for a while, so here's what we thought might be worth your time and mine. Keep in mind we are slightly biased on no meat, but none the less there are some places known also for their meat items. Some. Feel free to give me more places you thought might be worthy of listing or questions you might have. Use my email, of course.

CLOSE BY ----

Piccola Italy: (corner of harrison and main st.) Cheap and all good italian food. Best kept secret: Eggplant Basil Roll (it's about 6-7 bucks but two meals in one.)

Tokyo Sushi: (grace near harrison, next to little ceasar's) Decent sushi and tempura, worth a go for lunch, if ya like that sorta thing.

Panda Garden: (race right near harrison) their lunch(and Sunday night) all you can eat buffet sports all of their tasty mock meat specialties. Warning: stay away fom their real meat or else!

Harrison St. Coffee shop: (on harrison between grace and franklin) Cozy spot with good beverage and awesome (but limited) vegarian food. Good place beside dorm and school to chill, read, and mac.

Alladin's: (corner of laurel and broad) A Richmond native favorite for years! Although sort of an acquired taste, they have wise selection of italian, deli, and mediterranean. $4 dollar falafel sanwich is key and veg. monster pizza is a master (has falafel on it, weird but rockin') And they are open until 2am every night. YEAH BUDDY! Cash only though.

Ipanema: (on grace between harrison and shafter, down in the basement) I think they are only open for dinner, and it's a bit pricey, but packagable and killer vegetarian sandwiches and sweet potato fries. Free Scenesters, lots and lots of scenesters.

AS A SIDE NOTE ----
The Jefferson: (right past belvidere between cary and canal st.) A a huge hotel where Mr. L.L. Cool J. and Sir Hopkins stay when they were and are in richmond. You can't really afford to eat here. no way. Sell your soul and you'd still be far off. But check it out, be amazed, and pretend that you're staying here. Good alternative to library.

The Fridge:
(in the dorm) CHEAP and easy. Watch out for excess mold, unless you are into that sort of thing.

FURTHER AWAY ----

KubaKuba: (park and lombardy) still only about 3 or four blocks from campus and well worth the stroll. And ~cough~ you can sit at the bar to eat. It's fun ~nudge~ Get the cuban coffee with it, one will soon become hyper-aware.

Sticky Rice: (main and strawberry) kitchiest place in town. More scenesters! Waky sushi. Atari and rock and roll ambience. Get the 40,000 leagues roll. The eel, may not be friendly but it is tasty in ones mouth.

Rostov's: (next to Coppola's in Cary town)  Probably some of the best coffee in Richmond, freshly made brew from real coffee grounds and huge selection. Also includes wide varieties of teas. Best place to get coffee and walk about with ease in mind. For those cool folk, do you want to be left, uncool?

Joe's Inn: (on shields,..maybe..) Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, allllll dayyyyy lonnnng. Good food for a pretty cheap price. For once, a person can eat at joe's.

Bottoms up: (on east cary st., down in the bottom) Best pizza ever, ultra thick crust, crazy toppings, and plenty of left overs. Get one slice and anyone is set for a meal of two days. Might be pricey but considering the two meal factor and your stomach praising you, you have no choice. Very busy though, go early.

Coppola's: (next to rostov's in Cary town) Best sandwiches outside of New York. Averaging 6-7 a sandwich, but really, its worth a sacrifice in your wallet for happiness away from chilled foods. Frozen burritos will eventually need a break.

Mom Siam's: (on block right across street from rostov's) Best thai food in town for you buck. Kozee me is nice, psst~ its squid tentacles. Excellent green curry.
